I always want a wider variety of reviews so I thought I would try this question out. My favorite Indy bookstore would have to be Half Price Books. I read as many art-related books as possible and I can always find a couple of good bios or art history books to grab at a great price.

I saw your post title, immediately thought of Half Price, and I see that is what you chose too. Borders and Barnes and Noble are nice to browse, maybe pick up a magazine and have a beverage but Half Price is where I actually buy books. I like the prices of used book and I like a book with some history. If you ever make it to Fort Wayne, they have an amazing used bookstore called Hyde Brothers. http://www.hydebros.com/

I don't buy as many used books as I used to, but when I do it's Half Price Books. Actually, theres a used book store at 10th and post I want to go check out. I'd like to start going to the smaller stores, the ones that aren't chain stores. But Half Price Books rocks. I wish they had a store on the Eastside.

I love Half Price books as well, but also really enjoy Bookmama's in Irvington. I rely a lot on the booksale put on by the Central Marion Library. I think it occurs 4 times a year. Check here: http://foundation.imcpl.org/abou.... The next one is May 16-18. You can always get lots of great books for really cheap.

Half Price is awsome, but so is Big Hat Books. They're local, tucked into a small Broad Ripple location, and have a knowledgeable staff. They also host some cool authors on book tours.
