WFYI Presents "Indiana Lawmakers"
As the Indiana Legislature prepares to reconvene this week, Hoosiers can depend on WFYI and Indiana’s Public Broadcasting Stations (IPBS) for in-depth coverage of the major issues facing state lawmakers. From home foreclosures and education funding, to healthcare reform and job creation — Indiana’s citizens can stay in touch with their state government though IPBS’ insightful broadcasts and online coverage of the Indiana General Assembly.
Indiana Lawmakers, the longest running broadcast of Indiana political issues in the state, returns to the airwaves for a 28th season beginning January 9.* In Central Indiana, Indiana Lawmakers can be seen Fridays at 9:30 pm on WFYI Public Television (repeats Sundays at midnight). The series can also be heard on WFYI 90.1 FM HD 1, Saturdays at 6:30 am.
Tune into Indiana Lawmakers each week, and hear from the elected officials making the decisions that will directly affect the lives of Indiana citizens. Join host Jon Schwantes as he follows the issues and asks the hard questions Hoosiers want answered. Commentator Ed Feigenbaum will lend his insightful analysis to the discussion.
This week’s Indiana Lawmakers broadcast will feature a round table discussion with four caucus leaders: Representative Bill Crawford (D-Indianapolis); House Republican Leader, Brian Bosma (R-Indianapolis); Senator David Long (R-Fort Wayne); and Senator Vi Simpson (D-Bloomington).
Indiana Public Radio listeners can stay in touch with the local political scene with The Weekly Legislative Update which will debut on January 9. This capsulated radio segment hosted by IPBS Statehouse reporter Marianne Holland, will air on WFYI 90.1 FM HD 1 and statewide on Indiana’s Public Radio Stations, Fridays at 5:01 pm, during NPR’s All Things Considered.
