Virus warnings

We’re getting reports of Internet Explorer users getting hit with virus warnings surfing the site.

First off: Let me reassure you, we’re not sending a virus.

Here’s the technical explanation:

We’re using a method to push live, in-band updates to your screen that some virus detection programs misinterpret as a trojan or virus.

Right now, we’re trying our darndest to find an alternate way to get this effect for IE users without triggering the erroneous virus warnings.

One option (that we’d rather not use) is to turn the feature off for IE users until such time as we can get an alternate method figured out.
