Vern William Harvey
CICERO — Vern William Harvey, 88, Cicero, died Oct. 15, 2009, at Riverview Hospital, Noblesville.
Mr. Harvey was a mechanic at Firestone Rubber Products for 36 years, retiring in 1976. He was also a television service man in the northern Hamilton County area.
He and Maxine Repp Harvey were married Oct. 24, 1945. She died in 2006.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Harvey was a member of the Cicero Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Noblesville Senior Citizens.
He is survived by two sons, James J. Harvey, Brownsburg, Ind., and William G. Harvey, Phoenix; two daughters, Jerry M. Foster and Gloria Widows, both of Phoenix; a brother, Cecil S. Harvey, Cicero; a sister, Gladys M. Slavens, Crawfordsville, Ind.; ten grandchildren; two stepsgrandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Harvey; and two grandchildren.
Calling will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hartley Funeral Homes Cicero Chapel. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Scott Miller will officiate. Burial with military rites, presented by the Cicero Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Cicero American Legion, will be in Cicero Cemetery.
