Union Station getting new restaurant
Construction has started on a Cadillac Ranch restaurant in Union Station that will be one of the largest restaurants Downtown.
The franchised Western-themed restaurant will open by the end of the year and use about 15,000 square feet, including space formerly leased to El Sol Mexican eatery, said Larry Davis, a Sitehawk Retail Real Estate Group broker who helped negotiate the 15-year lease in the city-owned Union Station.
All told, operator Primeco Development, of Marion, Ohio, has leased 23,030 square feet in the station.
It plans other retail uses in the remaining space, Davis said.
The Cadillac Ranch restaurant will front South Meridian Street along a rail overpass and will include an outdoor deck on the south side of the overpass.
He called the restaurant and whatever else that opens in the adjacent space “kind of that missing piece between the Wholesale District and everything happening around Lucas Oil (Stadium).”
The restaurant features entertainment, such as a mechanical bucking bull, and includes a full bar. It has seven other locations, including Cincinnati and Cleveland.BusinessBUSINESShttp://cmsimg.indystar.com/apps/...
