Tribe pitcher helps U.S. to title
Indianapolis Indians right-hander Brad Lincoln was the winning pitcher for the United States on Sunday in a 10-5 victory over Cuba in the championship game of the World Cup baseball tournament in Nettuno, Italy.
Lincoln, who was 6-2 with a 4.70 ERA in 12 starts for the Tribe, allowed three runs in 41/3 innings of relief Sunday. He was 3-0 for the U.S., a team consisting of Triple-A and Double-A players that finished with 14 straight wins after opening the competition with a loss to Venezuela.
