The Top 10 Live is a collaborative effort between the Indy.com staff and Indianapolismusic.net.

1. Deborah Harry
7:30 p.m. Nov. 24, $27-$30, The Vogue, (317) 259-7029.

Deborah Harry is best known as the lead singer of Blondie, the group that bridged the gap between the punk, new wave, hip-hop and disco sounds that defined New York's music scene in the late '70s and early '80s. Along with her work with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group, she's also released five solo records. The most recent, "Necessary Evil," came out in October and is her first in 14 years. Kristoffer Rangnstam also will play.

2. Terence Blanchard Quintet
7 and 9 p.m. Nov, 28, $25, Jazz Kitchen, (317) 253-4900.

New Orleans born-and-trained trumpeter 8Terence Blanchard is one of the most prolific film score creators currently working. Blanchard's work has appeared in more than 50 films as well as the Spike Lee documentary "When the Levee's Broke." That work featured not only Blanchard's musical work, but his comments on the disaster that destroyed his family's homes. His musical response to Katrina, "A Tale of God's Will (A Requiem for Katrina)," came out earlier this year.

3. Born Again Floozies, KS Rhoads, Jane Jensen
9 p.m. Nov. 23, $7, Radio Radio, (317) 955-0995.

Shake off your post-Thanksgiving cobwebs with this eclectic lineup that includes Born Again Floozies, the guitar-tuba-trombone-tap dancer combo that spins tales of debauchery in a vaudeville style. Nashville-based K.S. Rhoads visits Indy with a catalog filled with lush, soulful pop. Jane Jensen, the electronically charged singer-songwriter described as "the love child of Beck and Kim Gordon" rounds out the bill.

4. Peter Bjorn and John
8 p.m. Nov. 27, $20, The Vogue, (317) 259-7029.

Sweden is a source of groups blessed with the ability to deliver shimmering pop music. Peter Bjorn and John is the latest Scandinavian pop export. The trio is probably best known in the U.S. for its single "Young Folks." The song has also been featured on more than 25 television shows, advertisements and video game soundtracks.

5. George Jones
7 p.m. Nov. 24, $36, Little Nashville Opry, (812) 988-2235.

Always a favorite of our Top 10 list voters, George Jones returns thanks to a visit to the Little Nashville Opry in Nashville, Ind. It's hard to blame the voters for continuing to choose Jones. The singer is the living embodiment of country music. He's not only delivered more than 100 country hits, including some of the music's defining songs, but he's also survived the hard-living lifestyle that defines a good country song.

6. Sweet F.A.
8 p.m. Nov. 23, $10, Spin Nightclub, (317) 257-0000.

If your memories of the Indy music scene date back to the '80s, you should remember Sweet F.A. The group rose to popularity in the wake of such hard rock acts as Motley Crue and Guns 'N' Roses. The group released two major label records before calling it quits in the '90s. This show is one of two reunions the group has planned for 2007. Dyrrj and Permacrush open the show while Rok Hollywood handles the late-night slot.

7. The Philosophy, Sarah Grain, The Innate
9 p.m. Nov. 24, $8, Radio Radio, (317) 955-0995.

Radio Radio delivers its second eclectic lineup in as many nights on Nov. 24 as hip-hop meets acoustic music. The Philosophy headlines the event with a group featuring a trio of MCs backed by a four-piece live band. Atarilogic and Alaska Westwind visit from Lafayette to keep the hip-hop going. Sarah Grain brings an earthy, acoustic sound to the proceedings while local music gadfly The Innate bridges both sounds and adds his own quirky vision to the showcase.

8. Nellie McKay
8:30 p.m. Nov. 27, $20, Music Mill, (317) 841-1850.

If nothing else, you have to give Nellie McKay credit for not letting anyone dictate her artistic vision. She convinced Columbia Records to release her debut, "Get Away From Me," as a double disc. When the label refused to do the same for her second album, she chose to release it through an indie label. McKay's 8musical style ranges from jazz to rap and funk, typically accompanying edgy lyrics. Her latest album, "Obligatory Villagers," came out in September.

9. Punk Rock Night with King Deuce
10:30 p.m. Nov. 24, $7, The Melody Inn, (317) 923-4707.

Punk Rock Night is ready to help folks get through the holiday season, as some of the city's favorite local punk acts are booked through the end of the year. The fun kicks off this week as King Deuce headlines a night also featuring the metal-tinged Colossus and Southern rockers The Fabulous Thunderlip. King Deuce comes with a pedigree of ties to punk and hardcore acts, including Majhas and Dirty Little Secrets.

10. Gay Black Republican
9:30 p.m. Nov. 23, $5, Locals Only, (317) 255-4013.

Looking for an event to bring you out of your post-Thanksgiving haze? Indy's Gay Black Republican specializes in high-energy punk and is fresh off a win at the 2007 Punk Rock Night Music awards, where the band took home the trophy for "Sleeper Band" -- essentially the musical underdog that exceeded all expectations. Free Smut and Narrow House also will play.
