Together in faith
The Muslim Alliance of Indiana launched its second annual convention Friday at the Indiana Convention Center, marking another milestone for a burgeoning community that has established 50 religious institutions around the state, including Islamic centers, mosques and student associations — most of them within the past 30 years.Events, which include an Islamic film festival, began with an interfaith luncheon that brought more than 100 people together to discuss the role of faith in social justice. Today’s activities begin with a 10 a.m. seminar on community service and include discussions of tolerance and youth leadership. For more about the group or the conference, see the Web at www.muslimalliancein.com.
