I am not sure I am in favor of this at all! Ah, how I loved my Michael Jackson-glove-wearing days and of course I was front and center when HBO first ran Thriller (Most people think it was MTV, but I believe HBO had it first) I thought it was some sort of a movie and then was a bit disappointed to learn it was an exceptionally long video…but what a video! About a week later MTV started running it every hour on the hour so you always knew when you could catch it. There was of course the video about the making of the video and I recall pretending to have a stomach ache for a WEEK so that I could stay at home and memorize the Thriller dance. Ah…the good old days!

But now they want to make it into a musical? Hmmm…I don’t know about that. I am not sure it will have the same draw for me if they make it in to a musical and what is up with taking some of these ideas and turning them INTO musicals…is there just such a lack of material out there that we need to start ripping off the greatest video ever made. (Sorry, Michael Jackson or not…it was still the best.) What do you all think about this turn of events?
