Those Darlins are coming to town tonight to play their undeniable hick punk music at Radio Radio. The trio of grindstone foxes—Kelly Darlin (bass), Jessi Darlin (guitar) and Nikki Darlin (baritone ukulele)— bless their hearts!!!—are making the road trip to our little ol’ Indy Napolis all the way north from the warmer climes down south in Murfreesboro Tennessee with only a bottle of Evan Williams green label whiskey, insulated miniskirts and some home made parkas to keep them comfy. Additional warm applause provided by the Fountain Square audience will be greatly appreciated. Those Darlins met at The Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp and became fast friends and soon bonded as a band. When they aren’t playing music together they go to thrift stores and buy Shaun Cassidy albums and use the vinyl for BB gun target practice. They got a song called “Snaggletooth Mama” that will make you want to wear a wifebeater over your Harvard sweatshirt. And they’ve been recording some new songs with producer Jeff Curtin.
