The IDS—-
Biography
The iD’s began their journey into the unknown sometime in the early summer of 2007 in Bloomington, Indiana. Through a couple of lineup changes and some early club experience, the iD’s have found their way into 2008 with more shows in new cities and a full length debut album in the making. The iD’s draw inspiration from many genres including; blues, rock, jazz, psychedelic, reggae, folk, funk, and many more. During live shows the iD’s tend to design shows that make the audience think as well as dance, in the spirit and the freedom of the subconscious.

PILGRIMS OF THE WILD
THE STORY OF PILGRIMS OF THE WILD GOES BACK ABOUT TWENTY SEVEN YEARS AGO. TWO CHILDHOOD FRIENDS THAT MET IN 1982 IN A SMALL TOWN CALLED RICHMOND INDIANA, AND THEY HAVE BEEN BEST FRIENDS EVER SINCE. JOSHUA REDD SMITH STARTED PLAYING DRUMS WHEN HE WAS JUST SIX YEARS OLD. RYAN LIVED JUST UP THE ROAD AND PICKED UP BASS AND LATER ON GUITAR, AND THAT’S WHEN IT ALL BEGAN. YEARS WENT BY AND THEIR MUSICAL TASTE CHANGED. ALTERNATIVE, BLUEGRASS, BLUES, FOLK, FUNK AND FINALLY THE TWO MAIN SOURCES JAZZ AND THE GRATEFUL DEAD. AFTER KICKING AROUND RICHMOND WITH DIFFERENT SETS OF BANDS WITH EACH OTHER, IT WAS TIME TO CHANGE SOMETHINGS UP. REDD STARTED PLAYING GUITAR AND WAS LEARNING VERY RAPIDLY BECOMING A GREAT GUITAR PLAYER. AROUND THIS TIME RYAN STARTED PLAYING BANJO AND WAS A FAST LEARNER AS WELL. THEY DID GUITAR AND BANJO DUETS, OR MANDOLIN AND BANJO DUETS FOR A LONG TIME. RYAN LIKES TO TAKE CREDIT FOR PUSHING REDD TO PLAY MANDOLIN, BUT REDD ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY AND ONCE HE GOT ONE THE GHOST WAS UNLEASHED. THEY BOTH HAD A DEEP LOVE FOR GARCIA AND GRISMAN’S MUSIC. THE YEAR 2000 RYAN AND REDD STARTED PLAYING ALONG WITH THE THRILL IS GONE AND GRATEFUL DAWG AND MANY OTHER GARCIA, GRISMAN AND TONY RICE TYPE TUNES. ITS BEEN NINE YEARS SINCE THEY RELEASED THEIR SELF TITLED CD. JAZZ IS A DIRECTION THEY HAVE BOTH PURSUED AND THEIR IMPROVISATION IS UNMEASURABLE. RYAN AND REDD HAVE A MUSICAL RELATIONSHIP THAT IS POWERFUL AND WILL NOT BE STOPPED UNTIL THEY REACH THEIR DESTINY. RYAN AND REDD HAVE PLAYED SPORADICALLY ALL OVER INDIANA, OHIO,WEST VIRGINIA AND SURROUNDING AREAS. THEY HAVE PLAYED SHOWS WITH DONNA JEAN AND THE TRICKSTERS AT SUNSHINE DAYDREAM PARK;AS WELL AS THE HACKENSAW BOYS. THEY ARE READY TO SHARE THEIR DREAM WITH ALL OF YOU. WE WILL SEE YOU ALL THIS SPRING AND SUMMER.
