Even though America celebrates freedom with great enthusiasm, those who defend our freedoms — whether advocates for religious expression, secularists or criminal defense attorneys — often are criticized. Numerous unsung Americans fight full time to defend the freedoms born on Independence Day and later codified in the Bill of Rights.
