Teen Arts and Music Festival Needs Talent
Talented teens in the music and visual arts fields are invited to apply to perform and exhibit their work at the Teen Arts and Music Festival 2009 to be held June 13, 2009 in Broad Ripple Park in Indianapolis, Indiana. The all day outdoor event includes visual arts and live music featuring sounds of local and regional teen bands playing on-stage to an audience of friends, family patrons and participants The outdoor day of Visual Arts will feature an exhibition of art displays of original works from local and regional teens at the Teen Art Zone with pavillion and sidewalk setting, with sounds of the teen acoustic open stage. Tim Brickley, owner of Hit City Recording will also host selected bands chosen for follow-up recordings at Hit City, located in Broad Ripple, Indiana. The festival is encouraging teen bands to apply. Here are the requirements for entry: For Bands –Ages 13-19—“Selected bands will represent local teen music in a wide variety of styles and genres, including original music. Teen bands should consist of at least 2 band members and may include drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, horns and/or vocals. Appropriate language and content are required. All combos will be considered and are encouraged to apply, including band playing salsa, reggae, jazz, blues and country, in addition to all forms of rock styles.” For visual artists (ages 13-19)—“Selected artists will represent local teen creativity in a wide variety of styles and media. Artists may exhibit individually or in groups. All media will be considered including works on paper or canvas, sculpture, fabric art, and photography. Works must be mounted and ready to hang or prepared to display on tabletops.” Submit music/band applications to:
