A sport utility vehicle driven by an 80-year-old woman hit a hair salon, an architecture office, several vehicles and a natural gas meter Wednesday, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.

No one was injured in the accident, but firefighters had to shore up the front of the salon so it did not collapse.

The accident was reported at 12:15 p.m. in the 6500 block of Ferguson Street on the Northside. Firefighters said a woman had just gotten her hair styled at Hairquarters and was backing away from the salon in her Ford Explorer when she apparently lost control.

The SUV hit the salon and knocked a gas meter off its pipe, then hit a bush, a fence and four other vehicles. It then crossed the street and hit the DEA Architecture office, then struck two other vehicles before stopping.

The owner of the architecture office usually sits at the spot where the SUV hit the building, according to IFD.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was investigating the accident.
