Surprise! Snow in forecast for Monday
Snow is expected to dust the area tomorrow in what could be one of the last reminders of winter in Indianapolis.
A storm moving east will sprinkle the white stuff across Marion and its collar counties throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. The snow is not likely to accumulate because temperatures are expected to remain above freezing most of the day, though they could drop Monday night.

“At this point it’s not going to be a major snowstorm or anything like that,” meteorologist Joe Skowronek said. “But you might see a dusting on the grass and stuff by the time its all done.”In the meantime, Indy-area residents might want to keep their umbrellas handy.Skowronek expected up to an inch of rain today, making this April “a little wetter than normal” so far. Overall, the Indianapolis area has seen less precipitation than usual this year, Skowronek said, and he predicted more rain Thursday and Friday.Temperatures are expected to have climbed back into the 50s by then and residents likely will be able to put away their snow shovels until fall.“It appears that’ll probably be the end of (snow) for the year,” Skowronek said. But, he said, “Nothing’s a guarantee.”
