A truck trailer that was stolen in Indianapolis with 1,200 cases of liquor on board has been found in Chicago.

The trailer was stolen late Sunday outside a Near-Southside liquor store. It was recovered early Monday.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives are in Chicago to investigate, said Sgt. Paul Thompson. He did not know where the truck was found or whether its cargo was still in it.

The truck driver had pulled a semi up to National Wine and Spirits at 700 W. Morris St. about midnight when two men wearing ski masks and carrying guns attacked him. The men unhitched the truck’s trailer from the cab, connected it to their truck and drove away.
