State Fair Commission has new chairman
Indianapolis business executive Andre Lacy has been named the new chairman of the Indiana State Fair Commission.
Lacy, who will lead the board that oversees the State Fairgrounds, is chairman of the board of LDI Ltd., a privately held, Indianapolis-based company specializing in distribution, where he has worked since 1961.
Lacy’s appointment, announced by the governor’s office, is effective immediately and runs through Sept. 30.
He replaces Kyle Hupfer, a former director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, who resigned Aug. 23 to run for the Republican nomination to challenge state Rep. Scott Reske, D-Pendleton.
Also Monday, the governor’s office named Gene Thompson, a Boone County Council member from Zionsville, to the seven-person Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority, which is overseeing the financing, design and construction of the Indiana Convention Center expansion.
