Star Media halts 2 publications
INDIANAPOLIS The Indianapolis Star Media Group is suspending publication of its Carmel and Fishers/Geist magazines. Three jobs are being eliminated as a result, the company said Friday. Michael G. Kane, publisher and president of The Indianapolis Star, said the magazines might come back when the economy improves. He added that the company is considering new magazines for other markets and niche audiences. The Star launched the Carmel and Fishers/Geist magazines in 2005 as a way to offer profiles of local personalities and in-depth features, along with coverage of events, businesses, shopping, fashion, travel, dining and recreation in those areas. i(Star report)/i
