Spring Fashion: The Bold and the Beautiful

After getting tipsy and hitting on the bartender at Cheesecake Factory, I decided to stumble out of the restaurant and talk to the fine people at Nordstrom and Saks to see what they thought was going to be hot this upcoming spring. The answer was pretty much the one you’d expect for Spring fashion. Vibrant colors and bold patterns. So what makes this year any different from those that came before? Fabrics. So many designers are putting their wild, colorful prints on spandex/cotton blends, micro-modal t-shirts/dresses, and silk making them beautiful to look at, and comfortable to wear. As with any of these fabrics, make sure you take care of them properly! Read the tags, most are dry-clean only.

As many of you may know, I’m a HUGE fan of shopping online so after talking to a few sales specialists at the Fashion Mall, I went to NeimanMarcus.com to see what designers in New York, Paris, and Milan had in store for us.

I’m attaching pictures of designers in all 3 locations so you can see for yourself! I like to print out pictures of the designer outfits I love and try to find the same “look for less” by shopping around here in Indy!

Check ‘em out and let me know what YOU think will be big this spring! Me? I’m thinking a cool, patterned maxi dress with either a pair of gladiator sandals or embellished thongs with a neutral hobo handbag would make a great spring daytime look!

Love,

KAY JAY

BossHogger, I beg to differ!!

Perhaps you should try swapping out your boring, white scarf for a lovely floral print!!

Yes?

God, these are beautiful, but I think you have to be a tall willowy creature to pull those colors and patterns off. Short stubby muchachas have to step aside. I used to wear vintage maxi dresses with gladiator sandals- in the 80’s! Glad to see it come back =)

At least you didn’t try and shop tipsy…gets me every time.

As far as the fashions go, I fear for the maxi dress. Potentially gaucho pants disaster circa 2005 all over again.

Yep! I know what you mean, it could get ugly, FAST. I love maxi dresses…when done correctly. Otherwise, they can look like maternity wear.

Gauchos are NEVER good!!

See, I’m excited about maxi dresses…they tend to look good on us flat girls when nothing else does.

This was great! Thanks for getting tipsy so I could realize I need to buy a chartreuse maxi dress, Kayjay.

I wish I could wear those dresses! They definitely create the maternity look on us not-so-flat girls. I looooooove the bright blues, though!

Love the colors! Yellow and green are my absolute favs when the sun is shining. No maxi dress for me. My not-so-maxi hips and thighs ain’t havin it. LOL!
