If you don’t drink and drive, the State Police sobriety checkpoint planned for late Friday in Johnson County should go smoothly for you.

Just have your driver’s license and vehicle registration handy to minimize any delay when encountering the checkpoint, the State Police recommends. The location is not publicly disclosed by the police.

If you do drink and drive, you face legal action if you are impaired with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 or above.

Troopers also will observe for other alcohol-related violations and take appropriate enforcement actions, according to a State Police news release.

The State Police recommends that if you are impaired, get a sober friend, family member or taxi driver to provide you transportation.
