Indy man shot dead on Near Northside
A man was shot to death late last night on the Near Northside.
Frank G. Moore III, 45, was found in a yard in the 3100 block of Broadway Street at 11:47 p.m. Monday. Moore lived a short distance from where he was found. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was sent to the area after residents reported hearing gunfire and a man moaning on the ground.

The death increased the 2009 homicide total in Marion County to 48, compared to 50 at the same time last year. It also was the fourth homicide in the area around 30th Street and College Avenue in the last month and a half.A man was shot and killed in the 3000 block of Broadway Street on May 4, another man was shot and killed on May 16 in the 500 block of East 31st Street, and a woman was killed in a May 29 crash with a car fleeing police in the 3400 block of North College Avenue, a death that led to a reckless homicide charge.Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the IMPD homicide office at (317) 327-3475, or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 262-8477.
