Nashville, Tenn., singer-songwriter Jill Phillips will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday in a free concert at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 126th Street and Gray Road, Carmel.

The folk-rock guitarist’s rich, insightful lyrics deal with age-old topics in new and fresh ways. Her newest release, “The Good Things,” centers on themes of family, relationships and faith.

Phillips’ appearance is part of the 2009 Performing Arts Concert Series presented by St. Mark’s. The final event will be “From Bach to Broadway” — a performance May 31 by a 20-person chamber orchestra, including members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.

For more information about the series, call (317) 846-4912, or visit www.stmarkscarmel.org
