Uprooting weeds got my toes a bit muddy and broken acorns stick to the bottom of the flops but it was sorta fun anyway. I'm too lazy to put on shoes when I'm going to be outside for 30 seconds, so I keep a pair of sandals by the front door all year round. The only place I'd actually wear them in public would be to the beach or a pool. Especially since I will be hanging out at the pool all summer anyway. Same way I feel about shorts too, I can't stand wearing pants, after work I always put on a pair of shorts and walk around the house....even in the winter.
