I'm stoked. I've got tickets for sale for Radiohead.

Tickets are lawn seats. Face value is $36.00. I paid $42.50 including Ticketmaster fees. I'm asking $40.

Right now, my buddy from NYC can't make it, so I have 3 tickets, not two...so if anyone wants to go (or has room for one more) I'd love to hang out with some real fans.

Contact me if you want to go...

Yeah Verizon isn't the best venue in the world, but it's better than nothing, and it's much more convenient than driving to Chicago.

Don't knock Radiohead. They're a great band. Maybe they don't get much airplay, but since when have our local stations played anything besides top 40 hits, classic rock, and generic frat-rock? There are tons of great rock bands out there that just don't get any airplay because they haven't been packaged by the recording industry for mass consumption.

I do enjoy shows at Verizon(Deer Creek) and I would rather hear the acoustics there than at Conseco. You forgot to tell them the worst part about Deer Creek...the stinkin traffic/parking...especially at a sold out show. If you go, plan on getting there VERY early and don't be in too big a hurry to get home...especially if you live in southern Indiana...and stop at White Castle on the way home..haha

Yeah, it's interesting to see Yorke in the Don Henley/Phil Collins seat.

The film crew must not be fans of Colin Greenwood. He shows up for about 2 seconds -- and you only see his back.

While I'm not a big fan of outdoor concerts in general (I prefer the sound and energy of a live show contained inside an acoustically sound building rather than allowed to diffuse in the open air) I don't think Verizon is considerably worse than other outdoor venues. And really, with a band as big as Radiohead, what are the alternatives in Indianapolis? Conseco? No thanks.

Konrad: Verizon Wireless Music Center consists of 6,000 seats under an open-air roof and room for 18,000 more on a lawn behind the fixed seating. It's a lot like SPAC in Saratoga Springs, but better sight lines from the lawn and there's no balcony inside the pavilion.

How will the show sell? If this leg of the tour included a date in Cincinnati, Louisville, Nashville or Memphis, I think Indianapolis would be long shot to sell out. But because there is no date in those cities, I think a lot of people will drive to catch our show.

One other thing to think about: Radiohead probably isn't the only band on the Lollapalooza roster that will play Indianapolis within the July 30 to August 5 time frame. Stay tuned ...

I seriously doubt that this show will sell out. But then, I'm not a fan of the band. Looking at it from my perspective, they had one semi-big hit with "Creep". And probably that song's most redeeming factor was that it was involved in a pretty funny bit on Beavis and Butthead. Other than that, they receive incredibly limited radio play in this market and their exposure is fairly slim.

Look at the acts that sell out Verizon: Kenny Chesney, Jimmy Buffet, Dave Matthews. Other than those, there might be 2 or 3 other shows every year that sell out. I'd be surprised if this was one of them.

But then again, I could be wrong.

Btw, Lollapalooza does look pretty good this year. Rage, NIN, The Raconteurs, Flogging Molly, & Wilco. Not good enough to convince me to spend that much money on a 3-day trip to Chicago, but still good. And the only gripe that I have regarding Verizon is the traffic. Otherwise I've found it to be a pretty good place to see a show.

Based on the amount of buzz I've been hearing about them coming to town, I suspect it will sell out quickly. Verizon is big, but regularly sells out shows. I agree with obeythedoberman though. I'd rather see them, along with a bunch of other great bands, at Lollapalooza. There is pretty much no band that could make me go to a show at Verizon. I hate everything about that venue.

So I've never been to the Verizon. Can anyone tell me how big it is, or more importantly, is it the kind of venue that will sell out for a show like this?

That is, do I need to be online trying to get tickets the moment they go on sale Saturday morning, lest risk missing out on seeing the greatest band in the world?

I'd rather catch the Lolla show, but I'm glad to know that if that doesn't work out I can catch the Verizon show.

I realize I get no indie cred points for this, but I'm also excited about Counting Crows/Maroon5. That is a great bill and will be an entertaining show.

SO F'ING LAME! Of course they play here Lolla weekend. GOO! Shouldn't most Radiohead fans actually be at Lolla for the whole weekend? This is stupid. I won't even bother congratulating those of you who will be here for this because you should be in Chicago. It's 2.5 hours away. DRIVE!

By the way, Counting Crows and Maroon 5 are soooooooo awesome! Just ask 92.3.
