I agree with Johnny B- Vine and Table is outrageous! Without a doubt the best wine/spirits/beer store in the City. This store is the ultimate wine and gourmet food shopping experience-mega wines, spirits and beers not to mention unreal cheese and gourmet food selection. This store even has fresh sushi from Chef Kang -Saturdays are over the tops with wine, cheese gourment food tastings throughout - their events are also tops! Not store in Indy can touch this store! Check out their web room when you visit - I have never seen anything like it! The website is also tops -best wine store I have ever visited!

Payless Liquor on 96th street (behind Mike's Express) is a great place for Wine. Their wine guy - Tom - has been in the wine business for year's, and is very helpful. Just tell him what type of wine you're looking for and a price range. He tries to stock a lot of good wine's in the $15 range, and has free tastings on Friday afternoons.

I gotta tell ya, I don't think there's a shop in indy that can touch Vine and Table up in carmel. Its a bit out of the way for you down towners, up on Carmel drive I think, but totally worth the trip. Huge wine selection, and their staff knows freaking everything about wine. They also have something like 400 cheeses. My wife and I go up every saturday for their free wine tastings. Sometimes they have some unreal stuff open. Last week we got to try a 1977 port! Its also a very friendly and educational atmosphere. They have a website now too, so you can just order stuff online, and go pick it up when your ready. www.vineandtable.com

Definitely my pick for Indy's best wine shop.

Mass Ave Wine Shop is a nice place. They have one wall of wines with 50 at $15 or less. And, on Mondays they have a special of Buy 3 Wines Get 1 Free. That's a pretty good deal. It's a small shop but that's what I like - it's not overwhelming. They also carry a few excellent micro & import beers. And, they have a cold case where they carry some wonderful imported cheeses and meats which you can ask for samples of any. We enjoy going there and getting a few bottles of wine and a few different small amounts of meats & cheeses and going home to make a meal of it with some fresh-baked artisian bread. Oh, they are also extremely nice here and will answer any questions that you may have and offer suggestions if asked. They're located at 878 Massachussetts Ave. We have never purchased a bottle of wine here that we did not like.
