I've actually got a Discman parked on my treadmill. It justifies my keeping all those CD's...especially the classics (defined as: I once also owned it on 8-track, cassette, and vinyl at one time).

My car came with a cd player AND a tape deck. Totally loaded in my opinion. It's not exactly new, though...

I cant tell you the last time ive seen a walkman with a tape. Ive got a discman type deal, but it plays mp3 discs which is nice. I dont have an mp3 player that has massive amounts of storage since im not an apple fan. I did have a shuffle, but it just stopped working after about 3 months for no reason. I think cars have stopped putting tape decks in cars for some time now.

I know you're much more of a purist musically than I, but I'm a wanderer musically. I have a certain group of songs that I will listen to, andI end up skipping around on my iPod (and I'm actually listening to some dynamite Podcasts featuring these Brits who talk about movies all the time),

Plus I LOVE listening to my iPod Touch with its fancy-schmantzy video and wi fi Internet capabilities. Best of all, it was free!

I also have an older iPod nano that I "gave to my wife," but she rarely uses it, so I end up sitting around playing the Parachute game on it. The battery definitely is on the downside of its life, and she won an iPod Shuffle at her job that will not charge on our computer any more.
