I scored a Hulu.com invite, so I spend about 20m or so watching programs shows online. Plus, I'm too cheap to even pay for basic cable.

But honestly, spending time with friends and meeting new people is a lot better than watching others hang out on TV.

Between the writer's strike and several small children actually [gasp] going to and staying in bed at a decent hour I've taken up knitting, reread Lamb (Christopher Moore) for the fifth time [really not joking] and finally cracked the spine on Dave Eggers What is the What - which is phenomenal so far.

I love the WGA strike. So many people -- not just ones posting here -- have turned to books and their own creative expression. The WGA should do this more often.

I've read Nick Hornby's "Slam," Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" and "No Country for Old Men," and I just started Hornby's "A Long Way Down." And I'm finding time to write for the first time in a while, which is comforting.

Thanks to Netflix, any downtime is taken up with film. I have Julie Delpy's 2 Days in Paris at home now.

Lots of DVDs (which we did anyway, but moreso now) and lots more reading.

Tackled the almost 1,000-pager "Shantaram" -- epic. Would highly recommend it if you haven't read it. I got through it in a week. So don't be intimidated by the size!

Just finished "One Hundred Years of Solitude" too. Also great.

Back to some Christopher Moore frivolity next.

I've read more in the past three months than I have since college, I think. No. Wait. I didn't actually read in college. High school maybe? Yikes.

I've been reading a lot more too!! Right now I'm reading a book on the Spanish flu of 1918, fasinating stuff! I sort of missed it (think I took a couple of months off post-graduation just because I was so burnt out... now I just want to go back to school!!)

I have also turned my house into a shrine of cleanliness, I feel like I'm constantly cleaning the place. But its very nice to sit down and read in a completely clean house. :)

I've been spending more time learning how to make make music on my new MacBook Pro, drawing more often (though not often enough) and I broke out my old comics and graphic novels. I never really watched that much TV anyhow, so I guess these are mostly things I've been doing to be less lazy at home and to keep from getting the mid-winter blues.

Movies, movies, movies. We're thinking of getting a(nother) PS2 just so we can play Guitar Hero, but not sure if that's going to happen.

I just cracked open the book "Hollywood V. Hardcore" last night, about censorship, Hollywood, and the MPAA.
