My dad LOVES Tommy Burgers.
I miss El Pollo Loco too. Chicken caesar burritos. Yum yum.

Or, yes, REAL Mexican food.

OMG. Chicken soft tacos at Del Taco.
Or any of the fatness from Jack in the Box!!

Although, I doubt In-N-Out would ever come this far because they're not a franchise. They're all still family-owned. Oh well.

Del Taco and Jack in the Box though I'm sure would sell.

would love to see them expand their franchise to here - I just dont see the similarity between in & out and 96th St Steakburgers

and I'd take me some del Taco, while we're at it

I went to SoCal last February and the first thing I did when I walked out of the airport was head to an In-N-Out... it was good, but it definately didnt live up to the hype... And yeah they do have these burgers all animal style and secret menu and whatnot... Also Fatburger is good, better than the In-N-Out in my opinion... I am stationed down in Arkansas and drive at least once every 2 weeks on a 2 hour journey to Texarkana to eat Whataburger, who by far tops all fast food burger joints!!! Definately a place you need to try when you go to Texas.

p.s. Fatburger is a good one to try too.
But again, in the end, it's still a burger. It's not like these are blue cheese and portabella-topped Kobe beef patty sliders or anything super fancy or special. They're good, old-fashioned yummy cheeseburgers.

OK, no.

In-N-Out is just fine, but it's one of those things you love and crave when you can't have it. It's good, but it's nothing super duper special. I grew up in SoCal, so I always had it around. They're good little burgers, real fresh, and really affordable. There are only, like, 5 things on the entire menu and all sorts of special things you can order that aren't on the menu (animal style, protein style, half and half shakes, etc). But it's nothing that will blow your mind when you try it. (And I really don't think 96th Street Steakburger comes close. I think if you added a smidge of the sauce from the Frisco melt to a regular steakburger at Steak N Shake, you'd probably be closer.) The thing is, all of us folks who are used to having it, miss it when we can't have it. And yes, it's great hangover food too.

It'd kind of be like, oh, maybe Yats. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Yats. It's one of the first places I take people when they come to town. It's not the best food in the world, but it's cheap and fast and tasty. And you can only get it here. So when I move back to Cali, I'm going to be feening for some Yats. And if that continues and I hype it up to everyone I know in Cali, they'd have the same reaction when coming to Indy to try it. Good (damn good! want a bowl of steaming Cajun goodness right now!), but not out of this world.

I wanted to try it when I was out there but my local friend nixed the idea, wasn't a fan. However, when I'm in Texas, WHATABURGER is essential.
They have some in Florida now, perhaps expanding elsewhere.

I was in LA last fall and tried the In-n-Out burger. It was good. Not out of this world, but good. Worth trying just for the experience. No one told me about the grilled cheese! I would've tried that too!
