Do you have any unusual rituals you practice when eating? For instance, I know someone who cannot have any food touching other food on their plate. And someone else eats only one food group at a time for dinner: all the potatoes first, then the meat, then another vegetable.....
I knew a guy who would eat everything with a knife and fork. Chicken wings, hamburgers, nuggets, french fries...all with knife and fork. Needless to say, it wasn't the only odd thing he did.
Some people don't like when you take a drink if you have food in your mouth. Hm.. I guess it's not very elegant to do that. Slopping everything around.
I guess Howard Hughes used to have some strange eating habits. He even disigned a special knife to eat his peas with. Things on his plate had to be geometrically exact somehow, the guy was strange.

I have a friend who refuses to eat certain foods because of their texture. One of her big dislikes is tomatoes. Personally, I love tomatoes, but she says they are slimy and gooey.
I'm the same way about tomatoes. I love everything made from them (ketchup and tomato sauce tomato soup) But I could never eat one raw. The texture thing gets me too.
I have that problem with cottage cheese
If I have mashed potatoes and corn on the same plate, they simply must be mixed together.
Also, if I'm eating fried chicken (rarely), I dip the pieces in the mashed potatoes before each bite.
