Shamar Bailey at United Fight League
After six straight wins to start his professional career, Shamar Bailey lost to Roger Bowling by TKO at Revolution Fight League’s “Hostile Takeover” event last April. Bailey had prepared a meticulous game plan tailored to videos of Bowling’s fights. But when the bout started, Bailey said “he did nothing like in the video.”
Bailey got back to his winning ways at the last United Fight League event in June and his upcoming bout with Jason George will be his ninth professional tilt.
The welterweight has gotten feelers from Canada’s Maximum Fighting Championship as well as a certain Nevada-based MMA reality show. A win on Saturday could mean big things for Bailey, but he won’t over think it. He’s learned that it’s better to do what you do best and let everything else take care of itself.
United Fight League, Saturday, Dec. 13, Murat Center, 502 N New Jersey St., 8 p.m. Tickets available at Ticketmaster.com or the Murat box office.
Below is a highlight clip featuring bits of Bailey’s RFL title bout against Waachiim Spiritwolf. And yes, the dude’s name is really Waachiim Spiritwolf.
