Sewer hookups set for Crooked Creek
The Crooked Creek area is next on the city’s schedule for sewer improvements.
Seven miles of sewer lines will be laid from 10th Street to 62nd Street near the White River and Crooked Creek as part of the $100 million Belmont North Relief Interceptor project, said Kit Werbe, Department of Public Works spokeswoman.
Construction is expected to begin by midyear and last through 2011. The $100 million project will be paid for by the State Revolving Fund that gives low-interest loans to Indiana communities for projects that improve wastewater and drinking water infrastructure.
When the project is done in late 2011, about 2,300 homes in Center, Washington, Pike and Wayne townships will be able to connect to sewers, Werbe said.
