For a bargain treat on a hot day, check out the do-it-yourself milkshakes now at area convenience stores.

Local Circle K and Village Pantry locations (as well as the Kroger at 1217 S. Rangeline Road in Carmel and Huck’s Convenient Food Store, 322 E. Broadway St. in Fortville) now boast “f’REAL” milkshake machines that allow customers to blend up a custom shake in less than a minute.

Choose your frozen cup (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, cookies ‘n cream, cookie dough or chocolate malt flavors), select a thickness and push a button — a minute later you’ve got a milkshake made with real ice cream and milk.

Shakes costs between $2 and $3; for more info and locations, check out http://www.freal.com.
