Westside commuters got a little relief this week as one Rockville Road ramp onto I-465 opened with another set to open next week.

Pavement connections were finished Wednesday afternoon allowing workers to reopen the I-465 northbound ramp to Rockville Road. Work on the southbound ramp is expected to be completed Oct. 16, weather permitting, said Ashley Hungate, INDOT spokeswoman.

Meanwhile, a portion of another major Westside interchange along I-465 is about to be closed.

The southbound ramp to 10th Street will close Saturday while pavement connections are completed and will not reopen until Nov. 20, Hungate said. The northbound ramp to 10th Street, which has been closed since Sept. 28, also should reopen next week, she said.

The restrictions to rebuild the West 10th Street bridge over I-465, which have dogged commuters since March, also should be completed this fall.
