Two men posing as gas company workers robbed a Westside restaurant this morning and stole the manager’s pickup.

The bandits wore hardhats, reflective vests and work boots and told David Thompson, 44, they’d come to the TGI Friday’s in the 6900 block of West 38th Street to fix a gas leak.

When Thompson asked for identification, the men pulled out handguns and forced Thompson into the restaurant, demanding money.

Thompson gave the men an undisclosed amount of cash, and they then drove off in his red 2005 Ford F-150 pickup.

The truck was found later in the 3600 block of Idllewood Parkway and will be searched for evidence. No one was hurt in the robbery.
