Hamilton County police agencies will conduct a road checkpoint tonight to check seat-belt use and sobriety.

The checkpoint will run at an undisclosed location tonight into the early hours of Saturday, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Traffic Safety Partnership. The consortium of law enforcement agencies includes the Indiana State Police, county sheriff’s office, all cities’ police departments and Fishers police.

Such checkpoints are common in the county during shows at Verizon Wireless Music Center. Tonight’s show features Gwen Stefani and her band No Doubt.

About 1,200 people are convicted of an impaired driving offense annually in Hamilton County alone, and nearly 200 of those are repeat offenders, the partnership said.
