Review of Speed Racer
My son is Jake--he's 8 years old. We liked Speed Racer. Jake thought the racetracks were cool. He thought it was cool how they made their own car, and it was really cool. The bad guy had a neat city. As for me, Krbin, I liked all the characters, enjoyed the competition and road rally stuff, and liked the constantly changing scenes and effects. If you like adrenaline rushes, this is a great entry to the genre. My 20 year old son went with us (with some coaxing) and thought it was "pretty good", and he's pretty picky.
