Remy shares in supply deal

Pendleton, Ind.-based Remy International, the biggest U.S.-based supplier of electric motors for hybrid cars, reported Thursday it will partner with Phoenix International to create high-performance motors and controls for hybrid and electric vehicles in a standard fashion. The design approach — expected to lower production costs — was integral to a $60.2 million manufacturing grant the U.S. Department of Energy has awarded to Remy and Phoenix, a North Dakota-based subsidiary of John Deere.
