RE: Maternity Leave...for high school students?
I am currently a pregnant teen and I’m a senior in highschool. I think they should have maternity leave. Yes they have all these “alternative schools or programs” that we can take but not everyone wants to give up their right to attend school just like everyone else. I do plan on returning to my normal highschool after the birth of my daughter in October. As far as having a set maternity leave for highschool students promoting teen pregnancy that is ridiculous. I am not saying getting pregnant as a teen was the smartest thing I’ve ever done in my life but that doesn’t mean giving me the oportunity to stay and finish at my normal highschool is promoting other girls to get pregnant. That would be like saying the schools star football player was promoting inguries because he broke his leg at a football game and is not able to return to school for a month so they allowed him to come back when he was better. Give us the chance to try and have a normal highschoool time as we can possibly get.
