RE: Just breathe
JSkit… I agree that things are not perfect in Indy. It’s not a perfect world. I’m white, I’ve been treated like complete sh*t in black clubs around the country and made to feel completely welcomed in others (again, this is not an Indy only phenom). It’s about the people, individuals, and the choices they make. Some people are jerks… but there are as many good folks as bad, of all colors.
Jermaine O’Neal’s club didn’t die because white people hate black people in Indy. I had some first hand business dealings with the management of that club. They had absolutely horrible business sense and burned through JO’s cash far faster than they could generate it. That’s the truth and the bottom line for any business. Bad businesses deserve to die. Period. So I’m going to pull your racism card on this one.
And maybe I missed something but I thought Bleeker was closed? Not to sound like a broken record here but… drumroll… too many fights and IPD responses surrounding their hip hop crowd (white/black/whatever) CORRECTION — Bleeker St. still open. So is Oxygen over reacting by having all the police???? No, people! If they have made a huge investment in the club (which it looks like they have), they desire to protect their investment. I don’t blame them. With Bleeker as an example, they know they can not let their crowd control their business. Smart.
JSkit… the world is not as against you as you might believe… but it doesn’t take anyone’s sh*t either. Shalom.
