Hollywood glitter made its way to the city Friday to kick off a three-night race bash and for the filming of an Indianapolis 500-based reality show.

Brett Jacobson, Her energy drink CEO, threw a soiree to highlight his plans to become an IndyCar driver and tape the process for a reality series. The funky event filled the Mavris Arts&Event Center with mingling, game playing and more.

Omar Benson Miller(“8 Mile” and other films) played pingpong inside the East Street center, which was converted into a loftlike space with modern furniture, beds and even a closet for the private party.

Just before it started, celebs walked on a pink carpet outside for photos.

Among those who dropped by was Indianapolis 500 celebrity pace car driverJosh Duhamel, who appeared in the film “Transformers,” and the television series “Las Vegas” (and is married to the Black Eyed Peas’Fergie).Bokeem Woodbine(“Saving Grace”) did, too, as well asAndrea Bowen(“Desperate Housewives”) and her mother,Peggy.Melora Hardinof the hit TV show “The Office” also showed up.

Woodbine, who attended the event with his wife,Mahiely, said he thinks the energy in Indianapolis seems positive and upbeat.

“We’re looking forward to seeing some fast cars and some good barbecue,” he said.

Not far from the Her party, a crowd formed outside the Conrad Indianapolis for the first of its three-night event, appropriately called The Race Party.

Friday was its Moves Magazine event, which featured professional athletes. Tonight’s bash will likely be just that, with an official Playboy Party.

By about 9:30 p.m., the celeb who caused the biggest stir outside Downtown’s swankiest hotel was HoosierCarlos Diaz(“Extra”), the event’s host.

Diaz signed autographs, posed for pictures and walked on a red carpet.

“These people are amazing,” he said. “I don’t deserve this at all. It just goes to show that people in Indianapolis want to have fun.”

IndyCar Series driverHelio Castronevesin a canary yellow tie, the Indianapolis art scene’sJacqueline Buckingham Andersonsmiling in a hip dress and Indianapolis first ladyWinnie Ballardsporting a Jackie Kennedy-style dress were all part of this year’s Championship Auto Racing Auxiliary Charities 500 Fashion Show on Thursday.

The fundraising luncheon, which supports multiple philanthropic causes, drew more than 650 and filled the Indiana Roof Ballroom. It is in its 28th year.

“With the support of volunteers and our city leaders, this is probably one of the best shows CARA has ever experienced,” event liaisonEllen Greenleafsaid.

Anyone who bought a ticket for the Thursday luncheon ended up rubbing elbows with an array of local leaders, racing celebs and other big names.

Honorary community chairwomen wereCharlotte Lucas, of Lucas Oil Products, and journalistAnne Ryder.
