Quayle aids congressional hopeful
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Former Vice President Dan Quayle returned to Indiana to boost the campaign of a Republican looking to challenge Democratic Rep. Baron Hill next year.
The former Indiana senator attended a fundraising event in Bloomington on Wednesday for congressional hopeful Todd Young after they visited a pharmaceutical services company in the city.
Quayle said he believed it was time for new leadership that people like the 37-year-old Young could provide.
Young is an attorney in Paoli and is married to Quayle’s niece.
Hill has represented southern Indiana’s 9th district for all but two years since 1998. He won re-election last year over former Rep. Mike Sodrel with 58 percent of the vote.
