Purdue, Butler start season in top 10

Let the hype begin.

Purdue, which reached the Sweet Sixteen last season, was ranked No. 7 in the country in the coaches’ preseason poll released today.

Butler, which returns standouts Gordon Hayward, Matt Howard and Shelvin Mack, start at No. 10.

Purdue also was picked to finish second behind Michigan State in the Big Ten by media.
