INDIANAPOLIS — Pike Central’s Nicholas Vogler and Jarrett Coberly have won Indiana’s annual Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills competition.

The 2-man team from the Pike County school in southwest Indiana beat out nine other teams in the annual contest for high school automotive technology students. They’ll represent the state at the national finals June 14-16 in Dearborn, Mich.

Students from the Elkhart Area Career Center finished second in Friday’s finals. The team from Mooresville High School placed third.

The competition offers a record $10.7 million in student scholarships this year at both the state and national levels.
