Perked up petals

A month ago I started using coffee grounds to perk up my poor rosebushes that seemed to be slow in recovering from last winter’s harshness. Two of them were really struggling and now, though they’ve not bloomed, have sprouted lots of new growth. One of my newer ones — pictures included — really blossomed with the jolt of caffeine. And I used the grounds around my rhododendron, too, and it’s looking way better. Nice tip, green.indy folks — thanks!

Bags of coffee grounds are available for free at Starbucks. I’m guessing most coffee shops have grounds available. I wonder if the coffee grounds will work on hydrangias?
