Paul Simon named to Berklee College of Music board
BOSTON (AP) -- Paul Simon and Christopher Guest have been appointed to the board of trustees of Boston's Berklee College of Music.
The school announced the additions on Thursday. Berklee President Roger Brown said adding Simon and Guest augments the board's knowledge of education, songwriting, performance and film.
Both men have received honorary doctorates from Berklee.
Simon, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has two scholarships in his name at the college.
Guest, who directed the films "Waiting for Guffman," "Best in Show" and "A Mighty Wind," performed a concert with Berklee students and faculty in 2007.
