Orkestra Projekt at the FREE Family Arts Series
Journey through the decades with Orkestra Projekt as classic rock and popular tunes are played in concert at the Family Arts Series in White River State Park. On August 15th at 6:00 p.m. audience members can interact, dance, sing, move and shout to the orchestra music. All ages are welcome to this free show located in Celebration Amphitheater in White River State Park.
The 12 member orchestra will incorporate the best of their rock-based string and percussion arrangements, along with some contemporary classics. Music will highlight different decades from classic rock of the 80’s by Led Zeppelin and Queen, to oldies and goodies from Elvis and The Beatles.
Before Orkestra Projekt takes the Family Arts Series stage, Young Actors Theatre will present Improvisas, an improvisation show. Children of the acting troupe will lead the performance based off the television show “Who’s Line is it Anyway?” and will use audience suggestions and creativity.
Families can also participate in a free printmaking workshop hosted by art education students from Herron School of Art and Design. Children are able to create their own art piece and take it home at the end of the night.
The Family Arts Series is made possible by the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation and the Lilly Endowment, Inc.
The Family Arts Series will feature free shows where the grass grows all summer long. Bring the whole family, blankets and picnic baskets to the outdoor Celebration Amphitheater at White River State Park. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site. Celebration Amphitheater is handicap accessible. For more information and the rain date location, visit www.INwhiteriver.com or call 317-233-2434.
