Old airport, new use: Fly-in casino in terminal

I’ve been looking at the old airport terminal and thinking what a shame it would be to tear it down like other edifices in our city.

Since Indiana has so completely accepted casinos, wouldn’t it be great if someone could develop the terminal as a fly-in casino? A visitor could enter through the plane ramp directly to the casino. There could, of course, be restaurants and shopping for additional distractions and motels are already conveniently located. Or, a person could fly in for the day and directly out for home.

Has this been done? Could it work? Do readers have other suggestions for the facility’s use?
