FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Allen County officials hope to raise up to $200,000 by auctioning off bleachers, furniture and other equipment from Fort Wayne’s shuttered baseball stadium.

The 15-year-old Memorial Stadium, a former minor-league baseball field, is set for demolition in June. On May 30, the stadium’s holdings will go on the auction block.

Coliseum General Manager Randy Brown hopes to bring in as much as $200,000 from the sale of the stadium lights, metal bleachers, plastic folding seats, furniture, concession equipment and field equipment.

He says high schools, colleges and other minor-league teams are interested in buying the equipment.

The stadium’s replacement, Parkview Field, is already open for business.
