O Gray Brothers, Where Art Thou?
I'm feeling a little numb right now. Gray Brothers cafeteria isn't listed on this site. This venerable institution of Hoosier cuisine, this top-20 metro-area restaurant has been ignored. Deep breaths, just keep taking deep breaths. I think that the worst part of it for me is that my favorite place in the world for fried chicken livers is being treated as being less valid than the 2 billion Applebees in the world.
And yeah, that's right. I said it. A cafeteria is a top-20 dining spot.
Anybody else shocked and dismayed? Any other classic locations being missed?
Gray Brothers, cafeteria, home style cooking, mooresville, fried chicken
It's southwest of Indy, off of Ind. 67 at 555 S. Indiana in Mooresville. 831-3345.
Yes, it's a cafeteria, but for comfort food, it's hard to beat. The menu is simple and basic -- from roast beef or fried chicken to banana cream pie. It does what it does well, at a fair price.
If you go, be prepared to stand in line for at least 30 minutes. (Though arrangements can be made for patrons who can't stand that long.)
AbominaNoel : RE: O Gray Brothers, Where Art Thou? More..
The line always moves pretty fast, the employees have been doing this long enough that they know people come there to eat, not stand in line. Although the line can be a good time to get caught up when you're meeting people there you haven't seen in awhile.
