Newspaper carrier finds slaying victim

A newspaper carrier found a man shot to death in the yard of an Eastside home this morning.

The body of Steven Anthony McCloud, 48, Indianapolis was discovered about 4:40 a.m. in a yard in the 3800 block of North Campbell Street. McCloud did not live at the Campbell Street address, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Lt. Jeff L. Duhamell said in a news release.

McCloud had been shot several times. Neighbors reported hearing shots about an hour before the newspaper carrier found the victim.

No motive or suspects have been determined. Anyone with information in this homicide is encouraged to contact homicide detectives at (317) 327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
